What's a Design + Build Project Delivery?

A Design + Build (Design-Build) project delivery method is a construction approach where a single entity is responsible for both the design and construction phases of a project. Unlike traditional project delivery methods, where design and construction are handled by separate parties, the Design-Build method integrates these two functions, providing a more streamlined and collaborative approach.

STEP #1

Initial Consultation

Meet with our experienced Premier ADU team to discuss your vision and goals for your new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) project. We prioritize listening to your needs! Bring your ideas, preferences, and desires, and we'll transform them into a custom Preliminary ADU Design tailored to your property.

STEP #2

Schematic Design Phase

Based on our initial consultation, our team will develop detailed floor plans that offer a preliminary solution tailored to your input. We'll also explore exterior design concepts and discuss the preferred architectural style to complement your existing home.

STEP #3

Design Development Phase

In this phase, we enhance and refine your ADU floor plans, further developing the exterior design and optimizing the site layout. We also create detailed outline specifications, outlining the building materials and finishes to ensure a cohesive and high-quality final design.

STEP #4

CD Phase

During this phase, we finalize detailed construction drawings and comprehensive specifications. We get ready to submit plans to the building department for plan check and approval to eventually pull a construction permit. Our team then presents a detailed construction proposal with firm pricing, so you’ll never encounter unexpected cost increases.

Construction Phase
